The Canoe Club currently has over 100 members. In addition to being a private members club, we have a local school affiliated to us who share the use of our facilities and equipment on a regular basis. The Club will only allow non-profit making organisations to become affiliate members.
Affiliated groups must provide their own British Canoeing (BC) qualified coaches.
With our own funding and occasional grants, we have built up a stock of good quality boats and safety equipment. Combined with a growing number of experienced and trained coaches, we are able to ensure all club paddling sessions can be conducted in a safe and positive environment.
All of the Club’s coaches are fully British Canoeing (BC) accredited and have been checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
When you are accepted as a club member you will automatically become a member of the GroupSpaces group and have full access to the members areas of the web site.
These fees are for 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020 and enable our club to maintain its high standard of coaching, facilities and equipment.
Members have the use of boats, paddles and equipment at no additional cost.

New to Paddling
As an introduction to the club we offer a free taster session to new paddlers. At all sessions coaches & experienced paddlers will be on hand to give advice and to provide safety cover.
River based taster sessions
Between May & September these will be river based at Bungay Staithe & usually occur on the second & fourth Thursday of each month.
Non members may attend one free taster session in order to gain some basic paddling experience. Thereafter they will be required to become club members in order to continue.
Pool based taster sessions
Between October & March they will be swimming pool sessions at Archbishop Sancroft High School, Harleston.
Non members may attend one free pool taster session in order to gain some basic paddling, rescue and safety experience. Thereafter they will be invited to become club members in order to continue. They will be offered membership for the rest of the year (to 31st March) at half the yearly rates.
Please do not just turn up. Contact Charles Wilde at email@example.com you wish to attend one of these taster sessions. We will then be able to ensure that you are greeted, suitably kitted out and someone is assigned to assist/instruct you.
It may be necessary to limit numbers at each taster session.
