Welcome to the WVCC website

We are a volunteer canoe club which arranges a whole host of paddlesport activities for people of varying abilities from beginner to the more advanced levels. The Club has been in existence for over fifty years and we currently have around 130 members which makes us possibly one of the largest clubs in East Anglia.

The Club has many family groups who participate where mum, dad and the kids all paddle. Additionally we also have several local youth organisations who have affiliated with us including some of the local schools.

Our home is the Suffolk town of Bungay (England) where we are blessed with the River Waveney on our doorstep. The club has signed up to the Anglian Water Rivercare scheme and we have adopted our local stretch of the river to maintain a clean pollution free waterway. In addition to paddling the Waveney the Club regularly paddles local coastlines and rivers such as the Broads and further away in places particularly where there is whitewater.

The Club offers a variety of activities including; Touring Trips, Whitewater activities, Sea Kayaking, Racing, Open Canoeing, and Polo. In the summer months the we offer British Canoe Union accredited skills courses on the Waveney from beginner to the more advanced levels. All of the Club activities are supervised by BCU Qualified coaches who are all unpaid volunteers.

We have a modern, well stocked boatshed at Bungay Staithe and a variety of craft, in addition to changing rooms and showers.

We hope you enjoy the site and to give further insight into what we get up to don't forget to look at our photos and read our articles and see what's on.
