RIVER CLEAR-UP/2* PADDLE/SKILL'S PRACTICE/BBQ.
On Sunday 1st June 2008, a large contingent of 2* paddlers and above attended a day of paddling, skills practice, and a barbeque on the Waveney at Bungay. We even used the opportunity to clear some of the pollution out of the river all the way to Ellingham. Several canadian canoes acted as the 'dustcarts' on the day because of their load carrying abilities. The River was in full flow after recent heavy rain, and was quite challenging on the way back from Ellingham. We headed back to the Club House where the Barbeque was awaiting. Some of the more energetic paddlers played on the moving water generated by the open sluices for the remainder of the afternoon.
